November, 2018. It was the saddest Thanksgiving Day in my life. Our dear Kahlua, the Sheltie took his last breath in front of us. It was the time when I called my husband and told him that Kahlua was getting weak. Kahlua probably saw my husband was walking to him at the end.
2018年、11月。それは、人生で一番悲しいサンクスギビンデーでした。私たちの愛しいシェルティのカルアが、私たちの目の前で息を引き取りました。主人を呼び、カルアが弱ってきていることを伝えたときでした。多分カルアは、最後に主人が自分の方に歩いてきているのを見たと思います。
That happened at our friends' house in Las Vegas. There were about 10 people and 6 dogs there. Kahlua got to see everyone he loved, and left us.
ラスベガスのお友達の家でのことでした。そこには、約10人の人たちと６頭の犬たちがいました。カルアは大好きなみんなに会い、私たちのもとを去っていきました。
Kahlua & I were soul mates for a long time. I really felt like the half of my body had gone with Kahlua at that time. And it took me for a long time to walk with my head up again.
カルアと私はずっと、心の友でした。私は本当に、自分の体の半分がカルアと共に逝ってしまったと感じました。また頭を上げて歩くのに、長い時間がかかりました。
But the show must go on. In December, for the winery, we did our best to promote our Holiday Gift Packages with chocolate & wine.
それでも、何があっても続けていかなければいけないこともあります。12月、ワイナリーのために、チョコレート＆ワインのホリデーギフトパッケージのプロモーションに尽力しました。
We were providing wine-tastings very often at the local hotels around that time. Being busy sometimes helped us numb our pain. While we were pouring wines at some different locations, from time to time, we said "We wish we had our own tasting room." It was the third year since we became a winery.
その頃の私たちはよく、地元のホテルでワインテイスティングを行なっていました。忙しさは、時に痛みを和らげてくれました。いろんな場所でワインを注いている間、私たちは時折、「自分たちのテイスティングルームがあったらなあ。」と話しました。それは、ワイナリーになってから、3年目のことでした。
January in 2019. It started very cold.
2019年1月。大変な寒さで始まりました。
The vineyard was so beautiful as always. The scenery that the fog came in from the left side and disappeared to the right side was breath-taking.
ぶどう畑は、いつものようにとても美しかったです。霧が左側からやってきて右側に消えていく風景は、息を呑む美しさでした。
We were writing the food blog to pair with our wine at that time. This was Roasted Vegetables with mint & tarragon vinaigrette.
当時は、自分たちのワインとのペアリング用に、フードブログを書いていました。これは、ミント＆タラゴンヴィネグレット添えのローストベジタブルです。
In winter, the red wines taste especially delicious. We have some library wines that we kept from this time, and are thinking to provide "Side-by-side Special Tasting" this winter. Are you interested in something like this?
